Goolma Public School is a small rural community school where students develop in a positive, caring and stimulating environment. Goolma Public School strives for excellence in its students through child centered teaching and learning programs based on the NSW curriculum, quality professional development of staff, a strong community involvement and an effective and positive student welfare program.
Students are part of a strong and committed Student Representative Council in which leadership and citizenship skills are actively encouraged and practiced. Students are part of the decision-making processes and this has given students a great ownership of and pride within their school.
The school endeavours to cater to the needs of all the children within the area by providing an Early Childhood Program for 4 year olds and a Parent run Playgroup for under 4's. Goolma Public School has a strong environmental education focus with students taking an active role in the planning and development of the learnscape garden area. Emphasis is on recycling and the production of chemical free fruit and vegetables which are consumed by students and by the wider community. Goolma Public School encourages and promotes citizenship and an ethos of self help within students and advocates giving relevant assistance to those less fortunate.
